A group of 19 young people from Narrabri shire have embarked on their vocational training and university study pathways with a little help from some friends.
The friends are the community based, not for profit, Country Education Foundation of the Namoi – mentors and supporters of the school leavers.
Each year since 2001 the Foundation has raised money from local donors and passed it on in the form of financial assistance to school leavers setting off on their career pathways.
On Tuesday night most of the grantees – some have already set off for university – met Foundation members and sponsors and outlined their plans for the future.
